Ramadan's here!

Hey Ya'll!

Ramadan's over and I've kept nearly 15 Roza's ( fasts) For all the non-Muslims who have no idea what Ramadan (or as its better known as: Ramazan) is well then let me tell you. It's a holy month for Muslims all around the world when for 30 days we fast to experience what poor people go through every day and it teaches us self-control and disciplines our mind. We have to wake up at 5am, eat a HEAVY breakfast, pray then go back to bed or do whatever you want. Then at around 6-7pm (depending on where you live) we break our fast with dates, water, fruits and other stuff. During the day we pray 5 times. When fasting you aren't allowed to swear, be aggressive, hit someone or scream. (Or eat..lol) So I hope that was a good insight for the non-Muslims reading this. I've only given a very brief overview so if you wanna know more in detail you can go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramazaan (Yes it's hyper linked!)
                            Hope that helps...Take care!

(That means Happy Ramadan!)

My Haiku Poems

The rules of writing a Haiku style poem are:
  • The 1st and last line have 5 syllables
  • The 2nd line has 7 syllables
  • It should be like a little story in just 3 lines!
Haiku Poems originated from Japan.

First Poem:
The seagull leapt up
soaring along in the sky,
then fell prey to sharks.

Second Poem:
When the fog thickens
the trees start to look scary,
then the fog clears up

Third Poem:
Winter comes around
makes the snow fall so thick.
Blanket of beauty
